Reaction Shots: Hymns for Climax

Some hit high notes, I tend towards a basso profundo growl.

The more organs used, the bigger the pipes, the better. (And remember to pull out all the stops!)

Please rise for Hymn 1051: I Am Coming, Lord
Also, Hymn 371: I Need Thee Every Hour
And the reading: Psalm 98:4

"Effective last verse arrangements for mixed chorus and congregation" #OhMy

"Adds New Interest to Hymn Singing!" #SayNoMore

Note that the author included his address on the cover...

Now you know why they call it the "fellowship hall"...

If you forget the words, you can speak in tongues.

(For those in London, the British Library has a copy.)

For funeral services, please refer to the companion volume: "Hymns for Hearse"

Reaction Shots: Study says people who take Viagra have lower risk of Alzheimer’s

From the Omaha World-Herald, originally reported by the NY Daily News:

Though more studies are needed, researchers in Cleveland found that men who were taking the blue pill, also known as sildenafil, had a lower risk of Alzheimer’s, following analysis of a database of over 7.2 million patients spanning six years, BBC News reported.

The team also reported finding in lab studies that those who took higher than usual doses of the pill — best known for erectile dysfunction — displayed an increase in brain cell growth and reduced protein accumulation.

1.    So, it keeps you both hard and sharp?

2.    When you think with your penis, you're also helping your brain think as well.

3.    Daddy's little helper is also granddad's little helper.

4.    The "Four F's" are now three, since Viagra will now keep you from forgetting.

5.    Not only does Viagra make you grow "down there", it also helps you grow "up there".

6.    Maybe by increasing brain cell growth, it will help guys avoid regrets. (HA! Nope! They'll still think with their you-know-whats.)

7.    So, the pill that's known for its side effect, has a side effect to the side effect? What next, a cure for cancer?

8.    "Are you thinking about me, or just thinking?"

9.    "Common side effects include headaches, heartburn, and flushed skin."  Wait... it improves brain function, but causes headaches? Of course, no guy ever will use that excuse after taking Viagra!

10.    [Oh, great, now I'll be flooded with sildenafil spam! "No, seriously honey, I was just researching! No! Not that kind of research! Strictly academic! What? You want to play 'Mad Scientist'?! *GULP*]

11.    Yes, size matters. (For men, the average is 7⅜.)

12.    What can I say? Some women prefer wrinkles! (AKA "sulcibus".)

Reaction Shots: Cardboard Rocketship Recycling

The remains of a cardboard coloring rocketship from our Kids' department, right before we recycled it.

(Outer space was 2019's Summer Reading theme.)

I, of course, added post-its, meme-ing the remains.

Game over, MAN! Game over!

You maniac! You blew it up!

(On a more positive note, the baby survived.)

Hey, what do you know... it disintegrated.

You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!

MOSTLY harmless.

Yes, we're gonna have to go to LUDICROUS speed.

Houston, we have a problem.

Look, sir. Droids.

...like tears in the rain.

Yeah, the same thing happened to my $2.99 mail-order submarine.
First he's gonna sh*t, then he's gonna kill us!
She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've added some special modifications myself.

  • They tried using an AI to auto-generate subtitles. It went rogue and now earns $1 million a day running dating sites and posting to Twitter and Facebook.
  • What the hell are "subtitties"? Is that some new perversion? Or just a new name?
  • You do NOT want to know what the blind people are requesting...
  • Well, there's always Literotica...
  • I think he's going to be disappointed when he reads the captions...
  • There is a generation of dirty old men who remember spending weekend nights watching the scrambled Playboy Channel and creating their own fantasies set to the clear audio.
  • Half of the subtitles will be [moans in foreign language].

Reaction Shots: Missing Boy Found Inside Claw Machine

Missing Boy Found Inside Claw Machine

By LeAnne Morman
Tue 3:00 PM, Apr 15, 2014
Updated: Tue 10:27 PM, Apr 15, 2014

A 3-year-old boy somehow crawled up into a claw machine and was busy playing with the toys inside while his mother frantically searched for him.

Employees at Madsen's Bowling and Billiards in Lincoln said a customer alerted them that the young child was stuck inside the claw machine.

At the same time police were called to a home nearby on a report of a missing child. According to reports, a 24-year-old woman called 911 when she discovered her 3-year-old had slipped out of her apartment.

She told police that she was in the bathroom when the boy left through an unlocked door.

Meanwhile, Madsen's called police and the vending machine company to come let him out.

Employees said by the time the vending people arrived police had pieced the two situations together.

The boy was freed from the machine without any injury.

According to police, the mother acted quickly and appropriately as soon as she realized her son was missing and there were no indications of neglect. She was not cited.

Good thing they didn't have a candy machine.

So simple, a child could do it!

If you want that iPod, borrow a toddler.

"Dang… I got the toddler. I was trying for the Rastafarian banana."

That stork is soooo fired.

The latest design in playpens!

"Hey, Cleetus! The trap done worked!"

The mother wasn't cited, but authorities are wondering where the toddler got the fake ID he used to enter the bar.

"Damnit! Not again! Earl, call the exterminator! We've got toddlers in the claw machine!"

The latest marketing promotion for redneck bars: daycare.

Parents can come get sloshed during the day while the child is safely ensconced in the “playpen”.

Authorities decided to check the ball pit at a nearby McDonald’s, where they found a heroin needle, three Happy Meal toys, a desiccated but edible Big Mac, and two teenagers engaged in heavy petting.

“Bartender, there’s a toddler in the claw machine.”
"Can’t be. I used them all in the barbecue."

Stop me if you've heard this one… "A toddler walks into a bar…"

"Doc… I have these recurring dreams where I’m a small child, and I’m on sale at the local Wal-Mart…"

It used to be, kids set up a sign and tried to sell their younger siblings. I guess this works better.

"Let’s go to Dave & Buster’s. Their claw machine has dachshunds."

At 5 PM, the bar replaces the toddler with a go-go girl.

"The Claw chooses who will go and who will stay."

Reaction Shots: Alien Abduction Bug Caused Male Pregnancies Among Men Who WooHoo-ed With Aliens In The Sims 4

Alien Abduction Bug Caused Male Pregnancies Among Men Who WooHoo-ed With Aliens In The Sims 4

Apparently, the Get to Work expansion contained a bug that started a more than usual amount of alien abductions. Alien abduction is an intentional feature, but they weren’t supposed to start happening all over the place. Once that started, male Sims suddenly started getting pregnant right and left, through no control from the players. What’s intriguing is that a lot of players thought this was really cool! Apparently, there’s already a male pregnancy mod for The Sims 4; but suddenly, lots of people with male Sims wanted to get them knocked up! Even other Sims players in other games wanted to get in on the action, wondering why their male Sims couldn’t get pregnant.
